This Privacy Policy explains how Global Golf Coach ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile app and websites (together, the "Service"). We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA").
Information we collect
We collect the following information so the Service can work for you:
- Account information – such as your name, email address, and the organisation or coach you are connected to.
- Swing videos and uploads – the videos and any notes you submit for coaching feedback.
- Coaching content – feedback, drills, and messages shared between you and your coach.
- Usage information – basic technical and usage data (such as device type, operating system, browser type, app activity, approximate country, and anonymised network information derived from your IP address) that helps us keep the Service running and improve it. Complete IP addresses are not stored for analytics.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Service and deliver coaching feedback on your swings;
- Create and manage your account;
- Communicate with you about the Service and respond to your requests;
- Keep the Service secure and prevent misuse;
- Improve and develop our features.
We do not sell your personal information. We only process it for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law.
Sharing your information
We share your information only where needed to run the Service:
- Your coach and organisation – the coaches and academy you are connected to can see the swings, notes, and information you share so they can give you feedback.
- Service providers – trusted companies that help us operate the Service (for example, secure hosting, video storage, and country-level IP geolocation), who may only use the information to perform services for us.
- Legal reasons – where we are required to share information by law or to protect the rights and safety of others.
How we store and protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Your information may be stored on servers operated by our hosting providers. We keep your information only for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet our legal obligations.
Your rights under POPIA
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal limits;
- Object to certain uses of your information;
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Children’s privacy
The Service may be used by younger golfers under the guidance of a parent, guardian, or coach. If you are a minor, please use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be communicated through the Service.
